Resin Art - Starter Basics

The first thing that you need to think about is the resin you are going to use. This is the RESIN you should start with.

You will also need something to mix in. Use Silicone Jugs; they can be used over and over again and are easy to clean.

But let’s not forget about something to work on to protect your worksurfaces from spilt resin. The ideal thing for this is an extra-large silicone mat. I always use these, as you will see in my videos, and I love them. I pop them in my washing machine on a cool wash when I need to clean them. I do take off the hard resin first using sticky tape.

The other thing I couldn't be without would be Mica Powder and Glitter to ensure you can obtain those wonderful sparkling effects.

Now, you will need something to cast in. Starting with some Jewellery moulds is the best place to start. You will be able to make yourself some jewellery and be the envy of your friends.

I hope you have found this useful.

Enjoy your hobby, and don't forget the PPE.
